PrepShrep ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our web application and related services (the "Service"). By using PrepShrep, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account, or profile information from Google when you sign in with Google OAuth.
Educational Preferences: Board (CBSE, Maharashtra SSC/HSC, ICSE/ISC), class, and subject selections.
Paper Generation Data: Chapter selections, difficulty preferences, and feedback/ratings you provide on generated papers.
Payment Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Razorpay. We do not store your credit/debit card details, UPI ID, or bank information on our servers.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, papers generated, time spent on the platform.
Device Information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device type.
Log Data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Service, including generating practice papers tailored to your curriculum.
To personalize your experience based on your board, class, and subject selections.
To process payments and manage subscriptions.
To improve the quality of AI-generated papers using anonymized and aggregated feedback data.
To communicate with you about your account, updates, and promotional offers (with your consent).
To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and abuse.
To comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (hosted on AWS). We implement industry-standard security measures including:

Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only access their own data.
Secure JWT-based authentication with tokens stored in secure browser storage.
Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase: Database hosting, authentication, and storage.
Anthropic (Claude AI): AI-powered paper generation. Chapter names and subject metadata are sent to generate papers. No personal student data is sent to the AI.
Razorpay: Payment processing for subscriptions. Subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
Google: OAuth authentication for sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Children's Privacy

PrepShrep is designed for students in classes 6-12 (typically ages 11-18). For users under 18, we recommend parental supervision during account creation and payment. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Export your generated papers in PDF format.
Opt out of promotional communications at any time.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Generated papers are retained until you delete them or your account. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., total papers generated per board) may be retained for analytics.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the Service. Your continued use of PrepShrep after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
